Catherine Pourdavoud MD, CLE

Dr. Catherine Pourdavoud is a board-certified pediatrician. She joined the Calabasas Pediatrics family in 2021 and was excited to move back home to Southern California. She is committed to accessibility, personalized attention, and close follow-up of her patients. Dr. Catherine also realizes that coming to the doctor’s office may be frightening for some children, so she hopes to create a warm, friendly, and comfortable environment. Her goal is for patients and their parents to have the space and time to ask questions and feel heard. She looks forward to seeing her patients grow, develop, and succeed.

Dr. Catherine is particularly passionate about lactation and breastfeeding medicine and is a certified lactation educator (CLE) and on her way to becoming a board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC).  She helps moms with latching their infants, developing pumping plans for supplemental feeds and troubleshooting other breastfeeding issues.

A southern CA native, Dr. Catherine received her undergraduate degree from UCLA, completed medical school at UC Davis as a Gold Humanism Honor Society recipient, and finished her pediatric residency at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, CA.  Throughout her training Dr. Catherine has learned the value of developing trusting relationships with her patients and their families. At UC Davis she created a baby cuddling program for medical students to hold infants in the NICU. During her residency she promoted early literacy through the Reach out and Read book program and most recently worked with the charitable organization Teds for Beds to distribute over 100 giant teddy bears to hospitalized children battling cancer and other medical conditions.

In her spare time, Dr. Catherine enjoys baking and pastry decorating, ballet barre, Zumba, spending time with her family and friends, and teaching tricks to her 2-year-old goldendoodle. She is fluent in Aramaic (Assyrian) in addition to English.
